Design #3
Unexpected and unfavorable results from both our metal and 3D printed versions of our second prototype led us to our third and final design for our scrubber. For this design, we got rid of the central channel and kept the body as one large chamber. To replace the channel and maintain low back-pressure, we added a spiraling fan throughout the whole body. Additionally, instead of an outer compartment to hold the activated charcoal, we filled the whole scrubber with carbon to maximize it's contact time with the exhaust gas.
